Eric Alvarez was born on February 24, 1979 in Harlingen, Texas and was murdered on November 13, 2001 in Houston, Texas at the age of 22. He is the second born son of Manuel Jr. and Belia Alvarez. Eric was a great son, brother, father and friend. Every one has one someone who they've lost too soon who never quite got to become the person they were meant to be. I wonder what Eric’s life would be like today if that someone hadn't stepped in.

Eric always strived in everything he did, also he was the one that you could have trusted. While he was alive we made so many wonderful memories with him. One lesson he told me was to never to let my head down and work my hardest at what ever I did. Now, Eric is gone and all we have left are those unforgettable memories that we were able to make together. I believe that I am truly blessed and thankful that I was able to have a brother like him. Nothing can replace him or the impact that he had on everyone that knew him. I will always miss him and his very unique personality.



It will never be the same, its not as if he went to another state, he went home. Why did it have to end like this God? Why was such a good person be taken away? Was it that necessary for the murderer to take the extreme measures that he did? Eric didn’t have a chance to do anything he planned to do. Eric will never have memories with his daughter or walk her down the aisle when she gets married. We miss his smell, his hugs, his beautiful smile, his laugh, the way he walked and talked. Eric touched each one of our lives in a special way and now he is a star.
